The Last Diphtheria Case
The Death of Mrs. Frank Melching on Saturday was a sudden occurrance that has naturally attracted considerable attention, for it was not generally known that she was sick.
Diphtheria is ascribed as the cause of her removal. The funeral was held Sunday, without services, and was private. Deceased resided with her husband and family on Third street.
The bereaved ones have the sympathy of many citizens in this time of mourning. With the death of Mrs. Melching there are said to be no diphtheria cases remaining in Marysville.
Death record says she was 44y 2m.
