Sorting out Davis families is like finding one thread in a bolt of cloth. Davis is the 8th most common name in this country. However, researcher Steve Malone has managed to ferret out most of our family line back to the mid 1700's. These Davises migrated from Virginia to South Carolina to Kentucky, to Illinois and points beyond. They, too, were farmers like most of the country in the 18th and 19th centuries.
